Up to five years. Depending upon the course approved by the regulatory body

 

Amount of Scholarship

36000 per annum for girls and 30000 per annum for boys.

 

Letter from Honorable Prime Minister

 

The Selected candidate will get a personalized letter from the honorable Prime Minister.

 

Who is eligible for PMSS?

 

People from Central Arm Police Forces, Assam Rifles, and state Police forces are eligible for PMSS provided they are fulfilling the following terms and conditions:

 

• Wards/Widows of deceased of CAPFs & AR who has died in the election duty.
• Wards of central Arm Police forces, Assam rifles personal who have disabled in doing the government service.
• Wards of Ex CAPFs and AFs personal who has received the Gallantry awards
• Wards or Widows of below officer rank of retired or serving CAPFs& ARs
• Wards of State Police Personal who are martyred during terror/Naxal attacks.
• Pursuing first professional degree related to engineering, medicine, dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA. B. Pharma, B. Sc (Nursing, Agriculture, etc), MBA and MCA, etc. It should be recognized by government regulatory bodies like AICTU, MCI,UGC
• For new applicants minimum 60% marks required in minimum entry qualification like 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent
• Applicants under the renewal category need to paas each subsequent academic year of the professional course they are pursuing with a minimum of 50% marks.
• A grace period of one year may be applicable for those candidates who submit delayed renewal applications.
• Wards admitted in the second year through lateral entry after diploma courses are eligible for PMSS
• PMSS is for first professional degree courses only. Like it is applicable for B.ED not for BA+ B.Ed. If a candidate is doing an integrated course like ME/M T.ech/M. Pharma then the scholarship will be given for the first three/four years only as the case may be.

What is PMSS Scheme?

Prime minister`s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) is for the wards of Central armed forces, Assam Rifles and state police personnel

Order of preference

The Application will be shortlisted based on the order of preference as below

For CAPFs/AR Personnel

 

  

Category A	wards/widows of the CAPFs & ARs personal who martyred in action
Category B	wards/widows of the Ex CAPFs & ARs personal who disabled in action
Category C	wards/widows of the deceased CAPFs & ARs personal who died for the causes which is attributable to government service including the casualties during the conduct of the election
Category D	wards/widows of the EX CAPFs & ARs personal who disabled in the service with disability attributable to Government service
Category E	wards of the Ex CAPFs & ARs personal who has received gallantry awards
Category F	wards of the Ex CAPFs & ARs personal
Category G	wards of the serving CAPFs & ARs personal Provided scholarship is available.

 

 

 

 

• The wards of State Police Personal who are martyred during terror/Naxal attacks will be considered for the scholarships under the categories A to F.
• There won’t be a rank restriction for the categories A to E and dependent wards of State Police Personal who are martyred during terror/Naxal attacks
• Wards of Assistant Commandant who is holding the local rank of CAPFs& AR who is not getting the salary benefits of the assistant commandant and drawing the salary of Inspectors are eligible for PMS under category F & G also.
• The Scholarship is available for two children per family. It will be insured by the beneficiaries as well as respective CAPFs & ARs/State Government

Bank Account

• Bank Account number linked with Aadhar is mandatory
• Applicants who are applying under PMSS must have a valid and active bank account
• The Bank account should be in any nationalized bank which has ECS/Core banking facility.
• In case the account is minor then the same should be converted into a major account.

 

What documents are required for PMSS 2021 

• In the case of service personal service certificate issued by H.O.O
• Certificate issued by the concerned state government will certify that state police personal was killed in terror/Naxal violence. This certificate needs to be uploaded for applying under this category.
• Applicants will have to upload an attested scan copy of the mark sheet of 12th /Diploma/Graduation or equivalent along with the following documents whichever is applicable.

1. PPO/Discharge certificate/Book( Mandatory for the category A to F)
2. Disability certificate (For category B&D it is mandatory)
3. Death Certificate(For category A&C it is mandatory)
4. Certificate of Gallantry award( For the category E it is mandatory)

Important Instruction

• If any kind of ineligibility is detected during any stage of scholarship (applying, verifying) then his/her scholarship will be canceled without any notice and also disciplinary action will be taken against him/her and he/she will be blacklisted for any kind of central government scholarship scheme for 5 years. 
• Without the attachment of requisite documents, the application will be considered incomplete and will be rejected.
• All the required information should be mentioned in the designated column. Once the information gets generated on the part of the applicant then no change/amendment will be allowed.
• To inform the candidate or wards of CAPFs, AR & State/UT Police personal regarding any kind of discrepancies mobile number and email address is mandatory.

Exclusions

• Wards of civilian employees of CAPFs & ARs and state/UTs personal will not be considered for this scheme.
• Applicants who are pursuing professional courses through correspondence and distance learning will not be considered for the scheme.
• Applicants availing of other scholarship schemes or availing of other financial assistance will not be considered for the scheme.
• If applicants already availed of the scholarship under PMSS then they won’t be considered again.
• If a candidate is pursuing diploma courses that will not lead to award a degree certificate then he/she won’t be considered for this scheme.
• The Applicant is admitted to the college/institute/university which is not recognized by AICTE/MCI/UGC then his/her candidature won’t be considered under this scheme.
• Candidates studying abroad won’t be considered under this scheme.
• If a selected student changes the course/college and gets fresh admission in a subsequent academic year then his/her scholarship will be canceled forever. 

Payment of scholarship

The scholarship amount under this Scheme for the fresh and renewal candidates would be credited directly to the students` accounts.

How do I check my NSP amount?

Visit the website PFMS. Click on track NSP Payments.New page will be opened. Fill in all the required details bank, account number, NSP application ID, enter word verification and then click on search. 

Last date for applying for the scholarship 

The Last date for applying for the scholarship is 30th November 2021. 

Points have to keep in mind before starting the filling the application form.

• Date of Birth: Your date of birth should be the same as mentioned in your educational certificate.
• Domicile State: This is very important. You will get the application ID based on your domicile state and this application ID will be your default log-in ID for all your future reference/correspondence. Domicile state is the state where permanent address is there. This domicile state will not change after the allotment. In case your institute is different from your domicile state then your institute will provide the bonafide certificate.
• Scholarship category: You need to choose the category of your scholarship (Degree or Diploma) while doing the registration.
• Name: You should provide the same name as it is mentioned in your educational certificate.
• Mobile number: You need to provide the correct and working mobile number because all the activities like SMS, one-time password on the portal will happen through a given mobile number only.
• Email id: Please keep ready one working email id before starting the registration on the portal. Because all activity on the portal will be notified on the given email id.
• Bank account: Provide correct bank detail, IFC code, branch name, etc during the registration. It is not mandatory but it is always advisable that you should link your aadhar with your bank account for easy transfer of scholarship amount in your account,
• Annual Family Income: The Income certificate issued by a competent authority needs to be submitted.

 

Once you are ready with the above information/document then let us move to the registration section.

Step two: Then click the New Registration tab.

After clicking the undertaking section you will be asked to click continue. Once you click that, you will be brought to the application form page below

Once you fill in all the above information and submit the application then the default log-in password for logging on to the portal will be sent to the mobile number. So it is always advisable that before proceeding further please provide the correct mobile number and get it updated on the portal through OTP.
