The Scholarship amount is 36200 per annum for 2 years.

In this scholarship Government of India provides assistance to the PG students for two years. The Government pays Rs 36200 per year for two years to the selected students.

Documents required

·         The candidate will submit an application containing Name, Address, Date of Birth, Graduation pass certificate and percentage of marks obtained.

·         Document related to the admission in college/institute/university in the first year

·         Candidate will provide the affidavit on behalf of herself and her parents that she is the only girl child in the family. This affidavit will be attested by Gazetted officer not below the rank of tehshildar.

Who can apply for Indira Gandhi Single girl child Scholarship?

 

The only girl child of the family, who has taken the admission in the first year of PG course in the following University/College:

• The Student is studying in the university/colleges/institutions which are included under sections 2 (f) and 12 (B) of the UGC act.
• The student is studying in the university which has been recognized as deemed to be a university by UGC and they are eligible to receive grants from UGC. But if the student is studying in the deemed university which is not taking the funds from central/state governments will be considered as not eligible under this scheme.
• The Student is studying in the university/College/Institutions which are being funded by state/central government
• A student is studying in an institute of national importance.
• At the time of admission age of the girl should not be more than 30 years.
• The Student should take admission in the regular, full-time first-year PG course from any designated university/college
• Admission to distance/correspondence courses will not be considered under this scheme.
• Girl student without having a brother or who has twin daughters/fraternal daughter can apply under this scheme. 

Procedure for applying

 

• The candidate needs to apply online on national scholarship portal The institution where the student is studying will verify the application.
• Once a year applications will be invited through the National E scholarship portal of the government of India.
• The Only verified application will be considered for further processing.
• Affidavit regarding single girl child and the admission in the institute/university/College needs to be uploaded on the portal.
• During this scholarship, candidates can avail of other scholarships as well.

 

When will the single girl child start getting the scholarship?

 

The Candidate will get the scholarship from the date of her joining the institute/College/University

Disbursement of Scholarship

 

Once selected, the candidate will be paid the scholarship directly through the DBT mechanism.

How Can I renew Indira Gandhi single girl child scholarship?

 

• The Scholarship will be renewed for the next year once the request gets received subject to fulfilling the other term and conditions.
• If awardees change the course then the scholarship will be forfeited from the date of changing the course.
• Candidates who got awarded the scholarship will have to follow all the processes of assistance through the UGC portal.

Once you fill in all the above information and submit the application then the default log-in password for logging on to the portal will be sent to the mobile number. So it is always advisable that before proceeding further please provide the correct mobile number and get it updated on the portal through OTP.
