    On 2nd of October Honrable Prime Minister Narender Modi launched Jal Jeevan Mission App and he also launched Rashtiye Jal Jeevan kosh

    On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti Prime minister, Narender Modi launched the Jal Jeevan Mission app today. Through this app, the mission is aiming to bring more transparency, accountability, and awareness among the stakeholders. This app has all relevant data like household connection status, water testing status. State -wise and district-wise status. You can find the app link on its official website.     Rastriye Jal Jeevan Kosh

     

    Prime Minister also launched Rastirye Jal Jeevan Kosh. It is a registered public charitable trust under the ministry of Jal Shakti. In this KOSH any individual or an institution based in India or abroad can contribute to providing safe tap water connection to every household, school, Anganwari center, and other public institution. It enables individuals or the corporate to donate/help in making provision of clean drinking water of their choice. An individual or an organization may volunteer through Rastriye Jal Jeevan Kosh in ongoing efforts to provide tap water in rural homes, schools, Anganwadi centers, and tribal residential schools. Contribution to this Kosh is eligible for deduction under 80G of income tax act 1961

     

    What is Jal shakti Mission?

     

    Jal shakti mission is the ministry of the central government. It has the mandate to enable states and UTS in providing safe, drinking tap water to all the households of rural India by 2024. This mission was launched on 15th august 2019. Till 2019 3.23 Cr households had water connections. After the creation of this mission number of water connections took the quantum jump. As of 2nd Oct 2021, the tap water connection reached 8.26 cr households. This mission also helps in tracking the quality of water. As of today, it helped in establishing 2010 active laboratories. Till today 1194572 samples tested in laboratories and 195105 villages are there where the test has been done.97411 samples of water have been found contaminated. 739362 users have been trained till now for testing the water through a field testing kit(FTK). Through FTK 468192 samples has been tested till now. In 3.5lakh villages, water Samiti has been formed. In these samiti 50% members are ladies. They are getting trained for testing the quality of water

    Ministry of Jas shakti runs a campaign called Jal Jeevan Mission. Its aims to ensure access of safe tap water for every household in India

     

    What is the objective of the Jal Jeevan Mission?

     

    The Objective of the Jal Jeevan Mission is to empower, assist and facilitate states and union territory. Jal Jeevan Mission enables states and UTS in the planning of water supply strategy for supplying drinking water on a long-term basis to every household and public institution. Mission helps states and UT in creating water supply infrastructure so that every household has functional tap connection by 2024 and also water should be available inadequate quality and prescribed quality.

    Overall Jal Jeevan mission works as an enabler for states, UTS, Rural communities for safe tap water connection for every household, lying of its infrastructure, water conservation, etc.

    Honorable Prime minister Narender Modi had launched Jal Jeevan Mission on 15th August 2019. This mission has to provide functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to every home by 2024

     

    Is Jal Jeevan mission for Urban?

     

    Jal Jeevan Misson –urban intends to provide universal coverage of water supply in all 4378 statutory towns.     What is Jal Shakti Abhiyan and its importance?

     

    Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)-1 was launched in 2019. In the first phase, it covered 1592 blocks out of 2836 blocks in 356 water-deficient districts of the country. It had launched in two phases. The First phase was 1st July to 30th September 2019 and the second phase was from 1st October to 30th November 2019. In this Abhiyan, officers, Scientists, Groundwater experts of the government of India had coordinated with states, district officials and worked with these 356 water-deficient districts. They worked with the team to promote water conservation and water resource management. They emphasized on accelerated implementation of five target interventions like a) Water conservation & rainwater harvesting b) Renovation of traditional and other water bodies/tanks C) Reuse or recharge of bore wells d) Watershed development e) intensive forestation. This campaign resulted in huge water conservation
