    Covid has left the big scare in the mind of the Indian family. Rehabilitation of the affected families is now a big worry of policymakers. Every effort is being made to rehabilitate the covid affected families. To give payment of Rs 50000 (fifty thousand) to the next of the kin of the deceased is also a step in that direction.  Ex Gratia payment to covid affected families scheme  In this scheme, if a person`s death has happened due to Covid then Rs 50000(fifty thousand) will be given to the next of the kin of the deceased person. This scheme is also applicable for those who are involved in the relief operation or in the preparation activities.  Duration of the scheme  From the first case reported in the country till di notification of covid as disaster or till further order, whichever is earlier.  Qualification criteria  The Cause of death should be from covid only. This will be the as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs  Disbursement of ex gratia assistance  Disbursement of the fund to the next of the kin of the deceased will be done through the district disaster management authority (DDMA)/District administration. State disaster authority will issue the form in this regard and then the concerned family will fill the form and also attaché the supporting document including the death certificate that certifies the cause of death as covid 19.DDMA will make the process of claim from applying to disbursement of the assistance transparent, simple, and people-friendly. All claims should be settled within 30 days of submission. Payment should be transferred through aadhar based direct benefit transfer procedure.  Grievances redressal  In case of any grievances in respect of certification of the death as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs and ICMR then the committee at the district level will look into the complaint. That committee will consist of an additional district collector, Chief medical officer of Health, Additional CMOH/Principal or HOD medicine of a medical college (if medical college is there in the district), and a subject expert. This committee will propose necessary alternatives or remedial measures. This committee will verify all the facts and if required it will issue an amended official document of Covid 19 death. If the decision is not in the favor of the claimant then the committee will document the reason. Department of school education and literacy has launched NMMS Scholarship 2021. The Full form of this scheme is the National means cum merit scholarship. Under this scheme financial assistance is being provided to the meritorious students from the weaker section. The whole idea is to support/sponsor meritorious students financially so that they should not be worried about the financial expenses of the study. Under this scheme total of one lakh, students are getting selected. They are offered Rs 12000(twelve thousand) yearly. This scholarship is being provided for four years (from 9th to 12th) for the students who are studying on regular basis in the government/government added/local body schools in class 9th. This is being further renewed for classes 10th,11th, and 12th. Overall under this scheme scholarships will be available for 4 years For this, state governments. UTs are conducting the examination at their level. In the examination states/UTs conduct the test of Mental Ability test and scholastic aptitude test.  Syllabus of scholarship test  The Syllabus of the scholarship test will be as follows:  •	Mental ability Test: This test will consist of multiple-choice questions related to verbal, Nonverbal, reasoning and critical thinking. This test will cover the topic of analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures, etc. •	Scholarship aptitude Test: This test will consist of 90 multiple choice questions from science, social studies, and mathematics. The Levels of the exam will be 7th and 8th. •	Duration of the test: The test duration will be 90 min. For children with disabilities, relaxation will be available as per the norms.  Last date for applying for the scholarship  The Last date for applying for the scholarship is 15th November 2021.   How many scholarships are there?   100000 (one lakh) scholarships are awarded to meritorious students.   Will reservation apply in the scheme?  Yes, the reservation will be available as per the state government`s reservation norm.   Who will conduct the examination?  The Examination will be conducted by stats/UTs governments.      Who can apply for NMMS scholarship 2021?    •	income should not be more than 150000 per annum from all the sources •	Students should have a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in the class 7 examination(there is a relax available by 5% for SC/ST students) in government/government-aided/local body school exams   What are the documents required for NMMS Scholarship?  •	Appearing students need to submit mark sheet of class 7th and 8th. •	Aadhar card of the students •	Income certificate •	Domicile certificate •	Ration Card •	Passport size photo •	Working Mobile number of the students •	Bank account details of the students.     Eligibility and other terms and conditions for starting and for continuing scholarship at the secondary and Higher secondary level.  •	The awardees will have to get clear promotion from class 8th to 9th for being eligible for starting the scholarship. For the continuation of the scholarship, the awardee will have to get clear promotion from class 9th to 10th and from class 11th to 12th in the first attempt with 55% marks. There will be a relaxation of 5% for SC and ST students. If awardees intend to continue the scholarship at the higher secondary level then they will have to get at least 60% marks in the class 10th exam. For SC/ST students’ relaxation of 5% is available. •	The scholarship at the secondary or the higher secondary or the equivalent level is payable for a maximum of four years. This will be applicable for the study in India only. •	If awardees take up diploma/certificate courses then no scholarship will be payable. •	In case the institute doesn’t conduct the examination in the class of 9th and 11th then the head of the institution/school will have to give the certificate of this effect then only scholarship for the second year will be continued.      Awardee will be eligible for the scholarship if he/she:  •	Does the study in the approved courses •	Continues the study as a regular student in government/government- aided/local body school •	Head of the college/institution certifies that he/she has good conduct during the study. •	Without approval doesn’t absent himself/herself from the study •	Does the study on a whole-time basis and doesn’t take up any job. •	No scholarship will be available for the students who take up the course from abroad. •	Request for arrears of scholarship, after the expiry of 12 months of the academic session for which claim has been applied will not be entertained. •	In case the awardees left the course within one month of the admission then no scholarship will be paid to him/her. •	If awardees are not able to appear in the examination due to illness then he/they will have to send the medical certificate through the head of the institution within three months of falling ill. In that certificate, it will be mentioned the duration of illness. The Certificate which has been issued by the registered medical practitioner will be accepted Awardee can continue in the same course in which he/she was studying if the head of the institution certifies that the overall performance of the awardee during the year is not less than 50%. •	The Awardee will have to join the next class/courses within three months of the declaration of the previous class/course. •	The Scholarship will be discontinued if there is a gap in one academic session at any time due to any reason •	Scholarship once discontinued will not be reviewed under any circumstances. •	All rules are subject to change from time to time as and when required. This will be acceptable to all the awardee.   Declaration of Result:  •	Students should pass MAT and SAT tests with at least 40% aggregate marks. For SC, ST students` cut-off will be 32%. •	For the selection for the scholarship, students should have secured a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in the class 7 examination (there is a relaxation available by 5% for SC/ST students) in government/ government-aided/local body school exams at the time of awarding the scholarship.   Disbursement of Scholarships:  •	Students can avail themselves of only one scholarship under any of the schemes. •	Qualified students will be required to open a bank account preferably in SBI or any other nationalized bank or any other scheduled bank which has a core banking facility. •	State governments/UTs send the list of successful candidates online on the portal. Ministry after doing the due diligence releases the fund to the SBI (the implementing bank). After that SBI will electronically transfer the fund to the students` accounts. •	Awardees will have to get a minimum of 55% in class 9th and 11th and 60% marks in class 10th for the continuance of the scholarship for the next higher classes. This norm will be relaxed by 5% for SC and ST students. •	SBI has a mandate to ensure that scholarships should be paid to the awardees in one go (Rs 12000) immediately after getting the instruction and funds from the ministry.     Points have to keep in mind before starting the filling the application form.  •	Date of Birth: Your date of birth should be the same as mentioned in your educational certificate. •	Domicile State: This is very important. You will get the application ID based on your domicile state and this application ID will be your default log-in ID for all your future reference/correspondence. Domicile state is the state where permanent address is there. This domicile state will not change after the allotment. In case your institute is different from your domicile state then your institute will provide the bonafide certificate. •	Scholarship category: You need to choose the category of your scholarship (Degree or Diploma) while doing the registration. •	Name: You should provide the same name as it is mentioned in your educational certificate. •	Mobile number: You need to provide the correct and working mobile number because all the activities like SMS, one-time password on the portal will happen through a given mobile number only. •	Email id: Please keep ready one working email id before starting the registration on the portal. Because all activity on the portal will be notified on the given email id. •	Bank account: Provide correct bank detail, IFC code, branch name, etc during the registration. It is not mandatory but it is always advisable that you should link your aadhar with your bank account for easy transfer of scholarship amount in your account, •	Annual Family Income: The Income certificate issued by a competent authority needs to be submitted. So it is always advisable that before proceeding further please provide the correct mobile number and get it updated on the portal through OTP.

      • The Official website will bring you to the home page of the portal
      • On the extreme top right of the page get it on Google play  will be there click that
      • Then click download then the app will be downloaded on your mobile.

      Note: Mobile app may not be updated in that case use only scholarship portal
